You are one of the few "gifted" human beings, who have answered the call to assist in the "Shadow War" against the Vampire Nation and it's allies. Armed with your "gifts" and weapons of Iron, you set off with your team to destroy the growing danger to mankind and his future as the dominant species on earth.
Campaign Description
Setting: Present Day, Alternate Historical Time line. The Campaign time will be set in the year of 2010.
Campaign city: The campaign city will be Washington DC, but will go world wide. Theme: You are a "hunter"(gifted or skilled normal) that has joined Unit 13 to help rid mankind of the growing darkness of the likes of vampires, ghouls, deadly spirits, undead creatures and the dark powers of evil. Mood: Grey, with a mixture of light and dark times. The game will deal with the very dark side of subjects like: Vampirism, the undead and the occult. There will be some mature themes and graphic violence in this game, and if that offends you do not apply to this game. Unit 13 is a mixture of several game settings: Dark Champions, Champions:Iron Age, and Horror. Characters: PC's are "special" individuals with "gifts" that allow them to combat the powerful creatures of the night. These "gifts" can range from senses that allow them to detect "otherworldly" beings to being able to project mystical blast of energy. PC's can be heroic without being dark and cynical. PC motivations can vary from the "PC who wants to rid the world of all evil" or a "mystical creature that is the sworn enemy of darkness". Or PC's may be solo hunters who are not aware of Unit 13 and their mission. PLAYER CHARACTERS: BASE POINTS: 125 MAX POINTS FROM DISADVANTAGES: 75 MAX POINTS FROM ANY ONE CATEGORY OF DISADVANTAGES: 50 TOTAL: 200pts. CHARACTER ABILITY GUIDELINES: Char 10-20 (may use normal char maximums) Str: 40 (max) SPD: 3-4 (3 max for bricks) CV: 5-7 DC: 5-7 ACTIVE PTS: 30-45 KILLING ATTACKS: 2d6 Max SKILL PTS: 15-25 SKILL ROLL: 8-13(13- max) DEF/rDEF: 12/6 (no resistant defenses over 6, will be enforced)Real Armor must be sectional. GM will make a case by case ruling on each character, but generally I will stay to the standards. Killing attacks: Standard weapons systems are okay. But, special weapons builds will be closely monitored for game balance. Characters must purchase the unit 13 package deal upon creation of character (Pkg Deals located on the Campaign message thread under Organizational information) Suggested Disadvantages(not mandatory): 1. 25 Hunted: Government 14-, Unit 13 More powerful than PC, Extensive NCI, Watching Only 2. 15 Social Limitations: Subject to Orders, Frequently 11-, Major (Agency makes social activities limited at times) 3. Psych. Limitation: Seeks eradication of vampires, Very Common, Major, 20pts 4. 20 Hunted: Vampire Nation 8-, More powerful than PC, Extensive NCI, will kill PC Restrictions at the beginning of play: 1. No power frameworks are allowed for powers 2. Hit Locations will be used for all weapon engagements(ranged and HTH type) *PLEASE NOTE: Please use HD V.3 HTML file when submitting characters. * Everything else I will make the determination upon character creation. * Every character needs to read "Vampires 101, GM comments, and Unit 13" in the campaign thread before creating characters for play. These threads will give you the basic knowledge of Unit 13. * Please have a good background history for your character. The How's and Why's are very important in this game. So, please think about your character's history. |
