You have all been summoned by Taid Meurdre, Bannerman to Hetman Breum Fiosag, nephew to Bolucus Meurdre who is Hetman to Prince Tarle Fioras for a feast at his riverfront keep; Caer Anurogius.
Campaign Description
Clan Meurdre are often berated as boring and tedious. Often considered to be the "Old Woman" that breaks up the party. The truth could not be further from the truth. Meurdre clansmen are just as drunken and frivolous as the next, but they are sticklers for tradition and are often reluctant to accept new things.

The Bards that come from within the Meurdre clan are the most knowledgeable in Beileanian histories and traditions, their Hetmen stick to the traditional grazing routes with little to no variation, they are the least accepting of the new urban movement and chafe under the idea of sitting in a cage of stone and wood. Not so much from any sense of loss of freedom, but from the loss of tradition.

The Meurdre clan has little love for the Dragoons and often drone on about the weakness that will come from such an invention. Much of this comes from their love of tradition, but considering that they are the clan with the most Hedge Wizards, some believe that they have no need for the unreliable weapons.

While the Meurdre may be sticklers for tradition and don't open up to new things without a fight, they are absolutely one of the best clans to have as an ally. Loyal and steadfast, the Meurdre are nothing if not honorable, almost to a fault.

Caer Anurogius lies on the banks of the Oighread very near the border of the Jalsbien Province and is in line to made into one of the many keeps and forts that will be built into the Great Wall that is nearing completion in Jalsbien.

Should the Princeship of Eiras Province open to a clan other than Clan Fioras, Hetman Bolucus is first in line to inherit for Clan Merudre. Bolucus came to govern Caer Anurogius when his brother, Darcutotus was killed by a Toridh raiding party while the young Hetman was hunting.

Recently there has been rumors of a wedding between Invontecubus Fioras (cousin to Prince Tarle) and Hetman Bolucus. If this were to take place, then the Hetman would seal his place in the line for the Princeship, having only Hetman Cascindus (Prince Tarles son) in his path.

Caer Anurogius was built forty years ago and placed under Clan Meurdre's auspices. Hetman Tichulucciabus (Bolucus' father) grudgingly accepted the "reward" of the keep. Even to his death Tichulucciabus considered the keep an eyesore and an insult to his proudly nomadic Brallius. He nurtured an enmity for Clan Fioras that found its way into the hearts of his children and they hold no love for the Prince or his clan.

Clan Fiosag is a comparatively small clan, with only a single Brallius to their name. Their migratory routes follow the Oighread River and the border between the Jalsbien and Eiras Provinces. This route has proven to be difficult of late due to Toridh raids. Having always been loyal to Clan Fioras, the Fiosag have never seen a reason to leave the Eiras Province. The increasing raids from the Toridh have been working to undermine that opinion, however.

When Princess Olaine rewarded Hetman Tichulucciabus with Caer Anurogius, a small group of Fiosag nobles began plotting. They did not want to leave their clans lands but they could not hold out for much longer under the increasingly prolific Toridh attacks. The plan came to fruition with a marriage between a Fiosag noble and a Meurdre Blooded, sealing an alliance with the steadfast Clan Meurdre and insuring the needed protection. The arrangement did not have the expected results, however.

Hetman Bolucus' sister, Eartidh Meurdre, married a noble by the name of Breum Fiosag and joined his Brallius. She, being of the Blooded, kept her family name and now owns Clan Fiosag's Brallius. Breum figured this would inject some much needed status into his clan, but others felt that this was the death knell to their clan and now a feud is beginning to boil underneath the veneer of correct politics.

It wasn't long before the couple had a child and several years later he proved to be a disappointment to both the mother and father, further stoking the flames of feud. When Taid took to the Dragoons, Eartigh was frustrated and heartbroken that he'd flaunt tradition like this, further adding fuel to the fire within her Brallius. When traditional logic wouldn't change the headstrong and self-centered Taid, she shipped him off to her brother in the hopes that Bolucus could pound some responsibility and respect into the boy.

You have all been summoned by Taid Meurdre, Bannerman to Hetman Breum Fiosag, nephew to Bolucus Meurdre who is Hetman to Prince Tarle Fioras for a feast at his riverfront keep; Caer Anurogius. He is in need of your assistance. The invitation is vague and states only that the village of Caer Cunardus is under threat.

Caer Cunardus is a tiny village that lies within the Malgit and is one of many "settler" villages that Prince Tarle has been encouraging to help tame the border with the Malgit and the rampaging Toridh.
