Advent's children is a dark fantasy setting for Hero 6th edition. Darkness rules the land in the form of the emperor and his demonic servants. A prophecy made by the last council of the magus foresaw the end of the emperor's rule. Five heroes from the salts of the earth is the form of that salvation. The time is here. Are you one of advent's children?

Darkness grows within the kingdom of Pyrinthius. A new emperor sits on the throne. It is said that he came with his servants from beyond the stars. Fifteen years ago the council of the magus convened to plan the people's redemption, the stars were read and a plan was made. 5 will be chosen by the will of the gods and those 5 shall free the people of Pyrinthius. Now is the time the people have waited for. Now is the time in which the saviors will come. The advent is here and we await her children.

This campaign is set in a tradition fantasy setting with a dark twist. From beyond the stars an enemy came to control the world. The people are forced to labor in the mines for a purpose that is unknown to them. The emperor and his servants used strange and powerful magics to destroy the king and subjugate the people. The Magus council fought back but with the betrayal of Master Thamus, their fate was sealed. Fifteen years ago the council foresaw the end of this time and it was written that it would be heralded by 5 heroes from the salt of the earth. This is the time that those heroes will come. It is whispered in every village and mining camp that Master Belfus, the last surviving member of the council has returned to seek them. This is the time that all have waited for. Can you be the hero the people crave? Are you advent's children?

Characters for this campaign are to be built using the 6th edition Hero system rules. This is campaign will start out low powered but will quickly evolve into a standard heroic game. To simulate this I wish to have the original drafts of the characters under 150 points with 50 points of matching complications. You are not required to spend all of these points. When we start up the first story arc is you getting to know each other the world around you and training to become the heroes you are destined to be. As this arc progresses you will be able to spend your left over points and 25 more points to bring your character up to the standard level for heroic play. Characters backgrounds should be such tht they will join the heroes and fight against the emperor and his servants. Followers of Thamus who have turned traitor, palace envoys that have access to the castle and use it to help, and comoners are acceptable as well as others that I probably can not think of right now. All characteristics at first should be no higher than the skilled level listed on page 48 of the Hero system character creation rule book. You may have 4 characteristics that on in the competent level. This is just a restriction on creation and is not a restriction throughout the campaign. Keeping this in mind your ability to write is not so important, all are welcome.

Potential players should submit an application with a character idea. Players will be approved based on these ideas alone. Remember this is a dark fantasy world. The primary theme is overcoming impossible odds. Once approved create a topic with your characters Name as the heading and we will start to flesh out your characters background. I will be writing allot on the background and history of the world itself in the coming months to help you.

Posting is the primary way that we keep the flow of the game moving forward I ask that anyone who applies be able to post once a day. This is not a hard rule real life gets in the way and that is understandable I just want to try to be respectful to all in the game.
