Andy Utech
PCs are members of a U.S. government-sponsored group of superhumans. They participate in a "hero exchange" with Japan's national supergroup, Asahi. While Asahi takes over in the U.S., our heroes move into Asahi's Tokyo headquarters. Our heroes fight crime and keep innocents safe in the land of the rising sun.
Campaign Description
Yokoso! Welcome to Japan, known here as Nippon or Nihon. As a gaijin, an outside person, you may not be aware that the name of our country means "sun's origin". Some people like to say this is the land of the rising sun. That's nice, too, isn't it?
Anyway, it's a real pleasure to have you here in our country. You'll be staying at the base of our national superteam, Asahi, while they stay in your base in Washington D.C. But you know that, ne? This is my business card. My name is Tsuyoshi Baba. I'm your liaison officer. You may find our bureaucracy very much confusing and filled with red tape. Please do not hesitate to call me. I have read all of your exploits. Thank you so much for saving the world from Dr. Destroyer. Twice. I can't tell you how much we appreciate that from the bottom of our heart. You are very famous persons here. That is why we requested that you land here at Tokyo International Airport Haneda Airport instead of Narita International Airport. We threw the press off of the scent. I am deeply sorry that we had to schedule your flight for this inconvenient time. But 3 A.M. is 2 P.M. in Washington D.C. So you should be raring to go, ne? I am stalling for time now. Because your interpreter has not arrived. I am deeply embarrassed. Your interpreter is Reira Koike. She is a very good interpreter. I cannot imagine what is keeping her. She is being driven here by Gen Okamoto. He is the Asahi driver and pilot. You say "wheel man", ne? He is at the wheel of all Asahi team vehicles. He will take you wherever you need to go if it is on official team business. But I am hoping that in your six month stay, you will not have need to be driven in Asahi team vehicles. My meaning is that I am hoping you will not have any action while you are here. I hope your stay is as boring as this waiting for Ms. Koike to come. She is very late. I really am sorry. Can I buy you a coffee? The cafe is closed, but maybe you like can coffee from the vending machine? It is very good. I drink Boss. But Roots is also very good. And Georgia, also. There are many tastes. Which do you like? I also have this. This is my Taspo card. I have it because I have filthy smoking habit I cannot break. I like to smoke Peace cigarettes. They are smaller and so I think they are healthier. But that is just wishful thinking. Do you smoke? You will need a Taspo card to buy cigarettes from a machine. I can arrange that for you. Please call the number on the card. You can call it day or night. Please do not hesitate. It is my job. Oh, good! I can see Ms. Koike. That's her at the end of the terminal. She is accompanied by Chikara Kosuke. He is the head of security at the Asahi base. So he will be the head of your security. But you do not have to worry because Japan is a very safe place. I hope you will find it so. Somehow I think Asahi is getting the short end of this stick. Don't you think so? There is so much violence in America. I don't mean that to be insulting. I mean that the statistics show such a trend. There are so many supervillains there, ne? That explains why there is action for Asahi in America. Maybe I am running off at the mouth. Please let me introduce you to Ms. Koike and Mr. Kosuke. And wish you a very quiet, peaceful six month stay in Japan. |
