Superhero dimension hopping.
Campaign Description
"No matter where you go, there you are."
"Stuff it, Vortex."
"Stuff it, Onyx? Moi? I've been stuffed up ever since Rain World."
"Don't remind me," said Inferno with a shudder.
"And in any case," said Vortex, paying her fiery friend no mind, "Tinker promised I could unleash the Buckaroo Banzai jokes when we reached our eighth dimension."
"That's true," agreed Tinker, looking up from the partially disassembled dimensional transport device. "I made her promise to hold off on any Buckaroo Banzai jokes for the past seven dimensions. I think she has shown admirable restraint."
"Did you hear that? I'm admirable!"
"Whatever," surrendered Onyx. She sat down on a rock across from Tinker and tried to keep her eyes on the device. Tried to keep her eyes off of the maroon sky. "So... You've been studying that thing for a long time now, yeah?"
"Yeah," Tinker agreed.
"Rain World. Dinosaur World. King-"
"Lots of worlds. I know," Tinker agreed somewhat testily.
"And we know that you're doing your best. None of the rest of us would have a prayer trying to work out a way to control that thingamajig."
"Thank you. I think."
"So I'm just wondering if you can give us some idea when you might be able to get us home."
"Home?" asked Tinker - his face creased with consternation.
"Home," confirmed Onyx.
"Yes, home!" agreed Inferno.
"I'm not too sure I can help you out with that," said Tinker. He looked down and kept his eyes on the device. Kept his hands busy. And said, "This technology is like nothing I've ever seen before."
"So you can't figure it out?"
"I didn't say that. I'm making progress."
"What kind of progress?"
"Well... For starters, I'm pretty sure I know which part is the battery."
Onyx groaned. Inferno rubbed his face.
"You've been using too much juice. Another 10,000 kilowatts again this month. Beats me how an old, homicidal loony can use that much power," Vortex quoted gleefully.
"That does it," said Onyx, rising to her feet. "I'm having a look around. Maybe this time we got lucky and landed on Happy Cute Bunny World. You coming, Inferno?"
"I think I'd better. Just in case this turns out to be Happy Cute Vampire Bunny World."
"Oh, I'm not too worried about that," said Onyx, rising into the air with a swirl of darkforce. "Couldn't happen twice, could it?"
Inferno burst into flame and laughter. The flame ignited air molecules and sent him skyward. The laughter set Vortex off again.
"Laugh while you can, Monkey Boy!"
Tinker tried to ignore the silliness. Tried to keep his mind focused. .oO(Can't let them down. I'll figure this out. I know I can. I've got to!)

Campaign Concept
This is a dimension-hopping campaign. After an initial adventure taking place in the characters' home dimension, they will be traveling from one dimension to another. Characters start as low-powered superheroes. With each hop to a new dimension characters will be handed 10-20 extra character points. The characters will essentially be lost in the multi-verse - trying to get back to their home dimension.

GMs: Dan Simon and Andy Utech will co-GM this campaign.

Campaign Tone etc.
This will essentially be a Silver/Bronze Age Champions campaign. Characters are superheroes. Things will generally not be "gritty" or overly serious. Mature themes are welcome.

Morality: Good and evil will often be quite distinct. Each dimension will be unique, however, so there is always the possibility that morality dips into gray areas.

Tone: The tone of the game will vary from dimension to dimension. As you might expect, a visit to a dimension in which the Nazis won World War II would be quite different from a visit to a dimension in which the Beach Boys won World War III. Light-hearted adventures will be mixed with more serious ones.

Storyline: The story is meant to be entirely serial. The same characters will face a new adventure in each dimension - learning about the overall plot and gaining enough power to deal with the archenemy.

Realism: It's a superhero game! Each dimension will have its own internal logic and realism, but we're not interested in being perfectly realistic about every little thing. We want to have fun.

Importance of the Player Characters: Varies greatly from dimension to dimension. In some dimensions the PCs may be tourists - just seeing the sights before moving on. In some dimensions the PCs may be actively hunted. In some dimensions the PCs may be able to tip the balance and allow the forces of good to prevail - becoming the most important figures the residents of that dimension have ever known.

Character Creation
Character Origins: Pretty much any character origin is acceptable. Mutant, altered human, alien, gadgeteer, power-armor, martial artist, mystic - whatever. Naturally there are some character types that will not work well in a dimension-hopping campaign. Characters who often make use of a stockpile of stuff, contacts, government support, and that sort of thing, are strongly discouraged.

Teamwork: All characters will start as solo superheroes. They may know each other but have not worked with each other before.

No-Go Powers: There are no Powers (or Talents or Advantages, etc) that are off limits. Naturally, we won?t be allowing an Extra-Dimensional Movement power to simply take everyone back home.

Exclamation Marks and Stop Signs: The GMs will carefully examine abilities build with Exclamation Mark or Stop Sign Powers / Talents / Advantages, etc. This is to ensure that the campaign is not radically altered. Your understanding is appreciated.

Special Disadvantages Rules: Because characters will be dimension hopping there are some disadvantages that will not be worth any points. Use your own judgment but it's a fair bet that Dependent NPC, Hunted, and Reputation will not be worth any points.

House Rules and campaign background
We will use Hero System 5th Edition rules.

Characters will be 125 base + 75 Disadvantages. 50 points max from any one type of Disadvantage.

Guidelines:
Characteristics generally 10-30
SPD generally 3-8
CV generally 6-11
DC generally 6-12
Active Points generally 40-75
Skill Points generally 25-80
Skill Roll generally 8-14-
Def/rDef 12/6

Note that these are guidelines - not hard-and-fast rules. Everything is negotiable if you've got a good character concept.
